Randy Spears was born in June 1961 and had what he describes as a 'normal Midwest upbringing'. He left for California in his early 20's to follow his dream of becoming a mainstream actor in Hollywood. He studied acting and had landed a few roles when the 1987 writers strike happened. As with many aspiring actors at the time, Randy was forced out of work.
Seeking another form of income Randy took a string of modeling jobs; and his well tanned and highly toned body landed him a job dancing for Chippendales. During one of his photo shoots in 1987 he met Ona Zee, a pornstar, who asked if he was interested in adult film work. Knowing he had a huge libido Randy jumped at the chance and after his first movie, The Case Of The Sensuous Sinners (1988) the phone started ringing off the hook. Randy Spears had made an immediate impact and his career wholeheartedly took off. Very shortly after he entered the industry he wed fellow porn actress Danielle Rogers.
Randy has appeared with pretty much every beautiful pornstar in the industry, from golden age to current top stars. Randy Spears is often noted for the special attention he pays his co-stars during their scenes. In fact, porn superstar Asia Carrera has publicly commented she would like to have Randy Spears under a personal services contract to her.
In 1990 Randy won his first AVN Best Actor Award for his performance in The Masseuse, with Hyapatia Lee. Since then he has been awarded almost 30 awards for his sometimes comedic, sometimes dramatic but always powerful performances. A prolific performer Randy has been in almost 1,000 feature adult movies and has consistently worked, with only a brief hiatus in the mid-90's, when he moved to Philadelphia with his wife. They later divorced in 2000.
In 2006 Randy married Playboy model and adult actress Demi Delia. At that time he also signed a new contract with Wicked Pictures that incorporated his desire to transition into behind-the-scenes work and directing. To date Randy has directed almost 30 adult titles with 6 released in 2009.
As well as enjoying incredible success with his pornographic career Randy has also ventured into the world of mainstream cinematography from time to time under his real name, Gregory Patrick. He appeared in two comedy movies in 1988, the first 'Sex Pot', the second the horror comedy 'Critters 2: The Main Course'. In 1989 he starred with Georgina Spelvin (best known for her role in the inconic porn feature The Devil In Miss Jones) and Linda Blair (of the Exorcist) in the non-pornographic Gothic thriller, 'Bad Blood', which raised a cult-following. Most recently Randy voiced a character, Mind Quad, on the popular Fox animated comedy series American Dad! in the 5th season premier episode titled In Country...Club, which aired at the end of September 2009.
Inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame, multi-award winning Randy Spears shows no signs of slowing down He is on top of his acting and directing contract with Wicked Pictures and is currently co-starring in a reality web series called Mommy XXX with Demi Delia.
