According to published interviews, Bree Olson is of Ukrainian heritage and has remarked in interviews that her biggest hero is her own grandmother who survived internment in a concentration camp. Her grandparents met in Germany during World War 2. They came on a ship to New York. They got sponsored by a church in Indiana so they moved there. They had two daughters, one was Bree's Mother.
In her late 20s Bree's mother she ran off to California with her boyfriend. According to Bree "She fucked him in California and they made me." When she found out she was pregnant Bree Olson's biological father wanted nothing to do with her so her mother moved to Texas to live with some friends while she was pregnant.

According to Bree Olson, her family was a very normal typical middle class Indiana family. She got her first job when she was young, detailing corn. Later, in her teens she worked as a clean up girl in a small restaurant and met her girlfriend who she was with for four years.
