Belladonna was born Michelle Anne Sinclair in Biloxi, Mississippi in 1981. Raised in Salt Lake City, Utah in a Mormon household, Belladonna has three brothers, three sisters and a half-sister. Desperate to escape her religious upbringing, Belladonna moved to Los Angeles to become a nude model and began her adult movie career in 2000 at age nineteen.
With more than 250 adult films under her belt, Belladonna has received a lot of mainstream attention throughout her career, perhaps most notably in 2003 when Diane Sawyer from Primetime Thursday at ABC television interviewed Belladonna after an ABC film crew had been following her career for the previous two years. Claiming the interview was not fully representative of how she felt about her career, Belladonna has stated in interviews that she "...would love to see the whole story air one day so everyone can see how much I had to say that was FOR the porn industry. If you know me you know that I LOVED shooting...". When contacted to do a follow-up interview by ABC, Belladonna refused, reportedly saying "No thank you, I don't want to be embarrassed again".
Featured several times in the reality TV series Family Business, Belladonna has also been in the HBO documentary Thinking XXX about the making of Timothy Greenfield-Sanders 'coffee-table book on the adult industry' in which she appears - XXX: 30 Porn-Star Portraits.
Noted for her prodigious tattoos, she claims to have ten on various parts of her body. Belladonna is 5 feet 4 inches tall and an all-natural 34C that she apparently never plans to enhance.
In 2004 Belladonna married Aiden Kelly but this didn't affect her career and she kept filming hardcore content until a brief semi-retirement in August 2007 saying she was concerned about STD's, particularly herpes, which she reportedly contracted in 2002.
Unable to stay away from the porn industry for very long Belladonna left early retirement and returned to the biz, most recently co-starring in Digital Playground's Pirates II; the sequel to their top-selling production, Pirates, and she is scheduled to appear in the spoof porn Genital Hospital opposite Sean Gunn.
